This album is easily one of my favorites, if not number one. I have followed Insomnium for years and was blown away when I heard this album. A couple years ago I actually went to an Insomnium show with Jordan. Except for the venue effing up the sound it was a damn good show (swallow the sun, scar symmetry, insomnium, katatonia).

I too had a similar forest driving experience in AZ and Insomnium’s “Across The Dark” complemented the drive perfectly. Another great review.

This album is indeed amazing. One of my favorites of the year for sure. I was a little disappointed with Above the Weeping World – it never grabbed my attention like the first two albums, but this is just as you said, nearly perfect. Great review.

Still getting used to the clean vocals, but HOT DIGGITY DOG! these boys are masters of melody.
