You can finally actually hear the bass guitar, the drum-fills are some of the most powerful and inventive I’ve heard in a long time, and the guitars are more varied and dynamic than ever.

These guys are so much better when they’re NOT just blasting away (“Works of Carnage” was SO BORING!!).

Their best yet.

I’ve heard numerous opinions over the years cataloging a whole host of reasons why this band is overrated, boring or just plain awful but not one convincing argument in the bunch. Such consistency and unwavering dedication to their chosen form of death metal while never faltering on quality has earned them a well-deserved spot as one of the best bands around today. I’d be happy to see them maintain their position for years to come while ignoring those who would whine about their success.
