Putridity
Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism

The brutal death bug has now even spread its wings over Italy, one of the last places I’d (and I should know) expect to find gore obsessed lunatics concocting gory, slamming death metal. What’s more the bug has bit hard, as Putridity join the likes of Vomit the Soul, Septycal Gorge, Stench of Dismemberment, Vulvectomy etc as the country’s purveyors of this vile style continues to expand.

Let me state something important. This is death metal made for people that listen to it a lot, and particularly to bands like Enmity (especially), Devourment (equally, plenty of chugging slams on this record), Vomitous and of course, Disgorge etc. Basically any artist that places brutality as the focal point of their agenda. Such an approach can make this an enduring record, especially on its initial spins because for 20 something minutes (trimming away the horror intros and outros that bookend the album) it repeats the formula set out on first track proper “Abortifacent Whore Lobotimizer”, that is blast, slam, gurgle, repeat.

Despite the reliance on such simple elements for an entire album framework, Putridity to succeed in making something cohesive, you just have to persevere and eventually you will be rewarded with a nasty little record that can duly satiate your cravings for relentless brutality.
