Dear diary, piss off! No relevance to anything really, just typing random shit. I don’t even have a diary and I sure as hell don’t want one. Can you even begin to understand that? There is a big fat list below. You should read it some time.
16 – Deep Cuts from Dark Clouds (Relapse). 16 is good, 16 is good, 16 is good.
John 5 – God Told me To (Rocket Science Ventures). Talented dude, good songwriter, and versatile shredder. It works.
Judas Priest – Painkiller (Sony). Had “Hell Patrol” in my head for some reason, so had to spin this one.
Deathhammer – Onward to the Pits (Hells Headbangers). No relation to Asphyx.
Michael Schenker Group – Hardrock Legends Vol. 2 (MVD). Fucking bliss! Lineup from this 1981 gig was Schenker (guitar), Gary Barden (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards/guitar), Cozy Powell (drums), and Chris Glen (bass). Wow man, wow.
Public Image Limited – Live at Rockpalast 1983 (MVD). John Lydon is better than you and he always will be. Move on!
Saxon – Metalhead (Steamhammer). This came out in 1999. I bought it in 2012 for $5 from CM Distro. Try beating that with a stick.
Aborted – Global Flatline (Century Media). Best Aborted album in years. It’ll be high on the year-end list.
Cianide – Hell’s Rebirth (From Beyond). “I believe in a hell so strong if there wasn’t one I’d ask God to start one. I believe in a hell so strong if there wasn’t one I’d ask God to start one Welcome to Hell, motherfuckers!”
Van Halen – A Different Kind of Truth (Interscope). I’m already over it.
Sinistrous Diabolus – Opus One (Dark Descent). It’s a tape….man.
Firewolfe – Firewolfe (Self Released). They deserve your love. www.firewolfe.com
Beaten to Death. I forgot how to spell the album title and didn’t want to look it up, so I’m just writing this instead, even though it’s not bold and in italics.
Soulfly – Enslaved (Roadrunner). This is aggressive. Good stuff.
Asphyx – Deathhammer (Century Media). Great album, one of their best. Yes, that includes the classic stuff.
Judas Priest – Jugulator (Steamhammer). It is necessary that I listen to “Cathedral Spires” every couple of months or so.
Lacuna Coil – Dark Adrenaline (Century Media). I forgot what I was going to write about this one. I wrote about it last time. Screw it.
Putrified – Neurotic Necrotic (Hellthrasher Productions). One man death metal band. Pretty good album.
Burial Ritual – Exterminating the Masses (Self Released). Suffocation + Other USDM = Burial Ritual.
Psycroptic – The Inherited Repression (Nuclear Blast). Tasmania, you know. Tasmania!
Municipal Waste – The Fatal Feast: Waste in Space (Nuclear Blast). Tight, crossover, thrash.
Pallbearer – Sorrow and Extinction (Profound Lore). I’ll let you know after I give it a few attentive listens to offset the passive ones I’ve been giving it.
Rush – Hemispheres (Mercury). “The Trees,” man.
Christian Mistress – Possession (Relapse). How many of you knew the title track was a Faith cover? That’s what I thought.
Deceased- Surreal Overdose (Self Released). I like this band.
Deceased – Up the Tombstones!!! LiHve 2000 (Thrash Corner). See above.
Hateplow – Moshpit Murder (Arctic). Kyle Symons and the boys live in Detroit. Few can match Kyle’s death metal vocal superiority.
Malevolent Creation – The Will to Kill (Arctic). It is necessary that I listen to The Will to Kill every now and then. And yes, that thing about Kyle Symons.
Malevolent Creation – Retribution (Roadrunner). Kyle Symons does not sing on this sonic manifestation of violence.
Malevolent Creation – Eternal (Crash). Kyle Symons does not sing on this album and Brett Hoffman doesn’t either.
Sabaton – The Art of War (Nuclear Blast). It is necessary that I listen to “40:1” every once in a while.
Napalm Death – Enemy of the Music Business (Dream Catcher, Inc.). Awesome.
Napalm Death – Utilitarian (Century Media). Not as awesome as Enemy of the Music Business, but still pretty awesome.
The Devastated – Devil’s Messenger (Century Media). It really grew on me.
Motorhead – The World is Our Vol 1: Everything Further than Every Place Else (UDR/Motorhead Music). I’ve watched the DVD version and the Blu-Ray version, listened to the CDs, and bought the double-vinyl version.
Mpire of Evil – Hell to the Holy (Scarlet). Three former members of Venom and one righteous heavy metal album.
W.A.S.P. – Kill, Fuck, Die (Raw Power). Totally underrated album.
Lay Down Rotten – Mask of Malice (Metal Blade). Meat and potatoes and pretty average.

My favorite part of this is the black void above the text which surely represents the utter evil and insanity permeating your thoughts. And the Will to Kill blurb…that album freaking rules
on Mar 14th, 2012 at 22:08Thanks for the heads-up on Firewolfe. Listening to the stuff on their site now and digging it. Also agree on Wasp’s KFD, and never understood the hate that Jugulator gets. Well, OK, I guess I understand it, but it’s still a solid album.
on Mar 15th, 2012 at 02:51Yeah Fred I really need to get that Firewolfe album reviewed. I understand the Jugulator hate too, but I’m not one of those haters – it’s a fun heavy metal album and it’s catchy. Sometimes our metal brethren forget about the fun part :-)
