What’s He Building In There? Add New Members

Canadian progressive-metal newcomers, What’s He Building In There? (WHBIT?), have announced their new members in the wake of the departure of both guitarists, Christopher Cookson and David Halk.

“Since the departure of the super-talented quasi-jedi Cookson and the mad scientist Halk, we have recruited our good friend, the unyielding Mason Tikl, who will be taking over guitar duties, and bass wizard Aiden Stevenson, who will be laying down the funk as our semi-permanent bassist,” says drummer Liam Epps. “With Aiden taking over the low notes, it means that Hal will be taking a breather from the bass to persue his primary instrument, guitar, as well as taking on trumpet and percussion responsibilities, effectively making him our in house multi-instrumentalist.”

The band will continue to tour in support of their self-titled debut album, which was released last year by Year of The Sun Records. The genre-bending eclectic sound of What’s He Building In There? has drawn comparisons to Between The Burried and Me, Mike Patton and Tool. The group’s video for “Avian Taxi” can be viewed here.

“We’ve already begun writing new material and revamping the older tunes,” continues Epps. “We’ll be back out playing shows in no time, so put those cyanide pills down for now, sit back, relax, and we’ll be caressing your ear drums again before you know it.”

What’s He Building In There? will hit the road this summer to tour Western Canada and will tour Eastern Canada in September. Dates will be announced shortly.
