Hateplow is not an average death metal band. Although stripped from any technical virtuosities or progressive experimentation, this group offers something which is (or should be) essential for all heavy music formations – the sheer brutality and aggression of metal enclosed in the most violent form possible. Hateplow is the ultimate death metal experience, where the only thing that matters is to bang your head and scream your guts out! The band feat. Phil Fasciana (Malevolent Creation), Rob Barrett (Cannibal Corpse), longtime underground scene stalwart Crazy Larry Hawke, Tim Scott (Revenant) and Kyle Symons (ex-Sickness) released their debut album in 1998. Everybody Dies remains a great debut album by a true death metal giant. If you haven’t heard of Hateplow yet, this is the perfect opportunity to make up for the lost time.
Metal Mind Productions will release Everybody Dies in a new digipak edition, limited to numerated 2000 copies, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc. The album will be available on 5th May 2008 (Europe).

Bio:
The beginnings of this monstrosity reach back to 1994, where Malevolent Creation’s guitarist Phil Fasciana teamed up with Rob Barrett from Cannibal Corpse and freelance drummer “Crazy” Larry Hawke to form what at first was considered a mere death metal side project. “In ‘94 I had just finished recording Malevolent Creation’s third CD Stillborn” – says Fasciana – “and I was very unhappy with the recording, and the band was falling apart at that time. Rob had some time off from Cannibal Corpse and me, him and Larry got together to write some songs along the lines of Napalm Death or Terrorizer for fun and we recorded a 4-song demo two days later.”
A year later the guys decided to get together again and add some new members to the fold. Kyle Symons (ex-Sickness), who became the band’s vocalist, recalls the collaboration between the musicians as a very successful one: “They just wanted to start something faster than Malevolent at that time. When Rob was in Cannibal Corpse, he had no time to sing for Hateplow so I started to sing for them; then we found a bass player Tim Scott from Revenant to join…”. With a steady line-up the formation begun working on their crazy debut LP – Everybody Dies. Hateplow’s intention was to record a straight-forward, brutal death metal album which would be perfect for headbanging and drinking to. However, with some musicians still working with other bands, the recording process took some time. To make it worse, right after recording the drums Larry Hawke was arrested and sentenced to 9 months in jail. During his lock-up, the rest of the group managed to record their bits and finally finish Everybody Dies.
Produced by Brian Griffin (who later on did a great job on Malevolent Creation’s The Fine Art of Murder), the album consisted of 14 brutal tracks, dealing with the most violent and disgusting themes the guys could come up with. The lyrical content of the album was always considered one of the strongest points of the LP – fans were loving the explicit and often humorous lyrics written by Symons. Fasciana comments on his colleague’s talent: “Kyle is very realistic with the lyrics and they are quite hilarious at times. We believe it is a lot cooler to write about real life things other than make believe shit!!”. Symons admits himself: “When you stay out drinking all night you tend to meet and see some fucking strange shit.”
In the meantime Hawke got out of jail, but it wasn’t long until bad luck struck again. On May 24th 1997 Larry Hawke was found dead in his apartment – he died of smoke inhalation after a fire. “It was a terrible loss for everyone.” – says Fasciana. “We miss him very much! He was a great friend to have!!” Despite this tragedy, the band decided to release their debut album in 1998. Everybody Dies received great acclaim among death metal fans and critics, becoming a very successful release and referred to as a perfect combination of Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation and Napalm Death.
It wasn’t until two years later when Hateplow returned with a renewed line-up, featuring Dave Culross (Malevolent Creation, ex-Suffocation) on drums and Doug Humlack (ex-Hibernus Mortis) on bass, and recorded their follow-up album entitled The Only Law is Survival. The band went on two major European tours, one in 2001 and another in 2003 (where they headlined on the Fuck The Commerce Festival in Eastern Germany).
