It is a german word and it describes the amount of money that a person needs to survive. (Being able to survive means that you can afford food, rent, clothing and a basic medical care, nothing more.)
Bascially, the minimum you need to exist.

Just listening to their stuff on MySpace, it´s okay, but nothing I would actually buy.
