Oath of Damnation New Album Premiere Exclusively at TeethoftheDivine.com!!!!

Teethofthedivine, Imperative PR and Gore House Productions are proud to present the stream of the premiere for Oath of Damnation’s second album, Fury and Malevolence.

Calling New Writers

We here at Teeth of the Divine are again drowning in releases, good and bad. It’s gotten so bad that we even told the water department to scram because, honestly, who has time for watery showers when you can simply shower in metal and bathe in righteousness? But even then, the sacrifices to our personal hygiene and well being isn’t enough to cover all the goddamn metal we receive daily. Thus we’re looking for a few good headbangers that know how to spell somewhat coherent sentences to share their educated opinions about today’s hottest and ugliest releases.

Teeth of the Divine Staff Picks For 2019

Shit. Another year of turmoil and the world seems more divisive than ever. The good news is that metal was as strong as ever and kept us united with top notch releases from every genre and every type of band from new and unsigned to perennial heavyweights. One glance at the staff lists below show the quality and quantity of metal released, as you’d be hard pressed to find a common top album amid the bunch.

Here’s to 2020 (where the fuck are the flying cars and shit??) , and you can look forward to more reviews, and maybe even a fresh coat of paint on the site. Skol!!!!!!

Redefining Darkness Records premiere debut track and album teaser video from upcoming Appalling album.

Redefining Darkness is proud to team up with Teethofthedivine to deliver a filthy, exclusive, one two punch from Virginia’s Appalling; a brand new song “Hot Coals for Branding” from the impending sophomore album Inverted Realm, due out May 3rd. The label also dropped a full album teaser via youtube, with even more of a taste of the death metal furor contained within.

Teeth of the Divine Staff Picks for 2018

The way we do the TOP 2018 list here at Teeth is that we’ve waited until the year was actually over. That way, we’re sure we didn’t miss giving proper credit to that one album that released a minute before midnight on the 31st. So just in case some metal band from Tonga got an idea, we were ready for it. Nonetheless, every year there’s more and more material out there for us to listen to and it’s pretty much impossible to cover it all. Yet, 2018 saw plenty of albums that deserve to be remembered next year — and some being which will stick around longer. Maybe you missed something? Maybe you have your own ideas what ruled in 2018 and what should never have been released in the first place? Check our lists out, see how our picks matched up, and let’s hope 2019 doesn’t prove to be worse.

Happy Holidays from Teethofthedivine!!!

As usual, we will be taking a little break here at Teethofthedivine .com for the Holidays. Whatever ever seasonal celebration you celebrate, we hope you have a safe holiday season. The elves here at Teethofthedivine will be let off for a few days from providing you with top notch reviews and features so we can recuperate from 2018’s amazing onslaught of metal, and allow the dedicated TOTD staff some time with their families or homeless shelter roommates.

Teeth of the Divine Security Notice

Dear readers.

Unfortunately, we recently became aware of a possible, brief security issue beyond our control on a machine that also housed a backup of Teeth of the Divine’s blog database (backed up in January 2016). It is possible that the backup was compromised in that brief moment and we are acting accordingly based on the assumption.

What this means to you?

Local files were not part of that backup. The current site is not compromised and remains safe to use.

The database contained the comments of the site (before January 2016) and with it, the nicknames, email addresses and IP addresses associated with those comments. Thus, potentially, in the worst case scenario, if you’ve left a comment to the site before January 2016, your email address might be out there in the open.

Our giveaways use another system and thus they were not part of the backup. We do not store that data on our server either and we do not hold onto giveaway information for longer than is necessary to see the event come to a conclusion.

So what now?

We have improved the security of the site further, so that it is more safe to browse and interact with.

We are going to keep working on the site to maintain and enhance its security where we can.

We will collect and retain as little of your personal details as we can and purge what we do not need more frequently.

We’ve also updated our privacy policy up to better explain what happens on the site when you browse it.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

TEETH OF THE DIVINE STAFF PICKS FOR 2017

Another year on the books, another year packed with excellent metal in every style. And while we didn’t see any significant trends emerge this year, you will notice if you look at our collective lists that there’s very little overlap in our picks. The new releases from the old guard, the standard bearers, and the heavy hitters of death, black, doom and beyond only make up a fraction of what’s offered here – everything else is new arrivals and recent rising stars. No matter where you find it, metal has never been so prolific or diverse, and that is great news for all you out there who are black of heart and hard of hearing. So get ready to dig in and get lost in the deepest bowels of the metal underground – when you come up for air, it’ll be 2018.

Warrel Dane 1961-2017

With heavy hearts and disbelief we bid farewell to one of the most iconic voices in heavy metal, as Warrel Dane, the vocalist in Nevermore and Sanctuary has passed away due to a heart attack in São Paolo, Brazil where he was working on his second solo album.

Through his music, the man gave us a lot of inspiration here at Teeth of the Divine and we wish to send our condolences and pay our respect to the family and friends.

Warrel Dane, you will be missed.

INTERNAL BLEEDING To Carry On Following The Passing Of Drummer And Veteran FDNY Firefighter Bill Tolley; Strike Of The Empire US Tour With Vader Draws Near

FILLINGS AND CAVITIES PART III: STUFF WE MISSED IN 2016

Welcome back to one of our few traditions here at TeethoftheDivine (if you can call 3 years a tradition) – our annual Fillings and Cavities feature. Here, our staff open wide and revisit 2016 to select releases that we failed to review or mention in our year-end lists. Don’t forget to floss afterwards.

My Dying Bride sign to Nuclear Blast!

For 27 years, MY DYING BRIDE from West Yorkshire have been the voice of the hopeless and broken, combining haunting sounds with crushing misery and melancholy. With their signature sound they’ve shaped the doom metal scene like barely any other act and integrated both soft violin melodies and violent death metal growls into their music, […]

Pyrrhon to Release 3rd Album via Willowtip Records

Experimental new York death metal band Pyrrhon (pronounced “peer-on”) have partnered up with Willowtip Records (North America) and Throatruiner (Europe) to release new material. “We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with these two fantastic labels, as clichéd as that might be. Willowtip has been the foremost name in weirdo death metal mutations since we were […]

Teeth of the Divine Staff Picks for 2016

Well, here we are at the start of a fresh new year. And while New Years is usually a time for bright-eyed, wishful optimism and wistful reminiscence, the global political and social climates have the world at unease. Yet despite a near blastbeat-pace of bummers and deaths, 2016 gave us another year of stellar extreme music.

Teethofthedivine soldiered on in 2016 as well, with some new faces on the team (though our distaste for digital promos hasn’t changed a bit). We also experienced a growth spurt on social media, so if you’re not following us yet, why the hell not? ‘Cause while other sites seem content to feed you with celebrity blogs, lists of ‘top 10 albums from 1993 which which had llamas on the cover’ or so-called humor pieces, TOTD just did what we do best: reviews, reviews, and reviews. One review every week day for the whole year. That’s 300+ reviews, folks.

We hope to add more interviews, features, and contests in 2017, and we do it all for you guys – our loyal readers, sharers, likers, and listeners. So keep on keeping it real in 2017, as it might be the last year the earth continues to spin. We’ll do our part to make sure metal stays as relevant in 2017 as it has been in the decades before.

So with much ado, here are the hand-picked releases that the TOTD staff enjoyed in 2016. Given the thousands of releases that assaulted our collective senses last year, hopefully we’ll introduce you to a few new favorites. And as always, stay tuned for our Fillings and Cavities feature, where we’ll shovel even more death, destruction, blackened weirdness, and melodic wonders into your willing ears.

Boris Records Vinyl Giveaway

If there’s one thing that’s mothertruckin’ hot right now, it’s nostalgia. And what could be more nostalgic than vinyls? Satan probably. Teeth of the Divine teams up with Boris Records and Clawhammer PR for a giveaway that combines both of those things. Yes, you read that right. One randomly picked winner gets his hands on one (1) 12″ and three (3) 7″ releases from the following bands: Vimur, Hellgoat, Cloak and Mangled. And what do you have to do to participate and perhaps—if Lady Luck is willing—get your filthy hands all over these records? Just fill a form right here, right now.

It happens every year. In the mad shuffle to painstakingly put our year-end lists together, stuff gets missed. Whether they were sent to us after the fact, slipped through the cracks, or were simply overlooked, a number of killer releases found themselves in year-end limbo. A few of our staff compiled a list of the praise-worthy releases that missed the cut for our year-end 2015 feature, which means you should still consider them to be some of last year’s best.
